Family Focus Eyecare Attended Eye Recommend’s National Training Event in Niagara Falls
Dr. Trischuk and six of our staff visited the beautiful town of Niagara Falls in October to attend Eye Recommend’s National Training Event! Eye Recommend is a national network of independent optometrists working together to maintain top notch eye care for patients.
The Weekend Kicked off with Eye Recommend’s Trade Show
Reps from various companies were present at the trade show to discuss and demonstrate the latest frames, pharmaceutical products, and eye-related technology available in the optometric world today.

Keynote speakers Michael Hoffman, Randy Taylor, Stuart Knight, Jim Carroll, and Jessica Holmes delivered engaging and inspiring speeches! They touched on various subjects such as how we interact with our co-workers and patients, overcoming obstacles, turning current trends into opportunities, conversations for success, and even acknowledging mental health.
Aside from the keynote speakers, the group split up and attended smaller sessions focusing on specific areas and subjects related to optometry. Dr. Trischuk and our staff gained tips about social media, brand building, how to create and maintain a health work environment, and exploring aesthetic procedures that are being introduced to optometric practices (to name a few!)
Eye Recommend Celebrated its 20th Anniversary
It wasn’t all learning and note-taking for our team! Apart from keynote speakers, breakaway sessions, and the trade show, Dr. Trischuk and the ladies attended Eye Recommended’s 20th Anniversary Gala. It was a night of fine dining, entertainment, and laughs!
Our team topped off an amazing weekend with sightseeing beautiful Niagara Falls!
With only a few hours to spare before making the journey back to Saskatchewan, our team wasted no time touring Niagara Falls and its gorgeous scenery! We had an incredible experience riding the Horn Blower into the falls as well – an absolute must if you’re in Niagara Falls!
Thanks again to our wonderful optometrists at Family Focus Eyecare for another exciting and memorable learning experience! We as staff are extremely fortunate for the opportunity to travel, receive continuing education, and grow as a team. We came back with a lot of knowledge and tips that we are excited to share with the doctors and staff at Family Focus Eyecare and implement new practices, products and technology!
