DR.TRISTYN LAUTNER

Dr. Tristyn Lautner was born and raised in Weyburn, SK. Tristyn knew from a very early age that she wanted to pursue optometry – be sure to ask her for the story when you are in for your next exam! She attended the University of Saskatchewan where she completed a Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Pharmacology with Great Distinction. She then went on to obtain her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo – Dean’s Honor List in the infamous year of 2020. She received the AW Cole Prize upon graduation, awarded to the student ranking highest in clinical proficiency.

While a student, Tristyn was able to gain valuable experience in managing ocular disease through her clerkship rotations in Calgary, Meadow Lake, and Oklahoma. Tristyn completed the Advanced Procedures Course in Oklahoma which enabled her to perform minor surgical procedures on patients as optometrists in Oklahoma have a more expansive scope of practice. She combined her love of travel with her passion for optometry by participating in a humanitarian vision project in Senegal, Africa and has plans to continue volunteering on similar trips in the future. Tristyn's other optometric interests include specialty contact lenses.

Tristyn understands the importance of patient centered care through patient education and has implemented Friday Facts with Dr. Lautner on our social media pages. In her spare-time you can find Tristyn trying out a new restaurant, spending time with friends and family, or attending a yoga class. Dr. Lautner is excited to provide full-scope optometry to patients of all ages and hopes to see you in her exam chair soon!
