DR. JENNIFER PEDERSON

Dr. Jennifer (Jen) Pederson was born and raised in Regina, SK. She graduated from the University of Regina with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Biology, and received her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science, graduating with honours in 2021. During her time in optometry school, she travelled through VOSH to Senegal, Africa to provide eyecare to numerous under-served communities there. At graduation, she received the College of Optometrists of Ontario General Proficiency Award and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development Excellence in Vision Therapy Award.

Dr. Pederson began her career working in rural central Alberta, where she spent 4+ years before moving back to her home province.

While she enjoys working with patients of all ages, Dr. Pederson has a special place in her heart for children with vision-related learning concerns and those suffering from the long-lasting effects of a concussion. She feels strongly that every child (and child at heart) should love to read and strives to give her patients the comfortable vision to achieve this or whatever visual goals they may have. She also has extensive training in disease management, and especially wants to help those suffering from dry eye and ocular surface disease.

Dr. Pederson strives to build a connection with each and every patient she sees, and loves the conversations that lead to the fine details of a patient's life.

Outside of work, you can find Dr. Pederson either with her nose in a book or spending time outdoors. She loves to be active and you can often catch her and her husband, Steven, running in every road race they can possibly register for or partaking in their newest found hobby, cross country skiing. She loves yoga and hiking, but also very much appreciates a good balance of down-time with family and friends.
