Dr. Karin Lypka

Karin Lypka was born and raised in Saskatoon where she attended Cardinal Leger elementary school and St Joseph’s high school. She received a bilingual Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta.

She obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo. During her final year she spent time in Northern Ontario, providing bilingual comprehensive eye exams

Karin also completed a therapeutic and ocular disease rotation at Jack C. Montgomery Veterans Affairs Hospital in Oklahoma. She has a passion for ocular disease and pursued a residency in primary care with an emphasis in ocular disease at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. 

In 2015, Karin travelled to Romania on a VOSH mission trip providing glasses and eye exams to those in need. She has also volunteered at Special Olympics and sports vision screenings in Florida and Waterloo.

Outside of work Karin enjoys traveling and visiting friends across North America, while being outdoors as much as possible.
