Dr. Élisabeth Foucault

Dr. Élisabeth Foucault co-founded Family Focus Eyecare in 1998. She obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Université de Montréal in 1995. Soon after her graduation, aided by her fluency in both French and English and her adventurous spirit, she decided to move from her home in Sorel, Québec to Saskatoon.

Dr. Foucault soon got involved with the Saskatchewan Association of Optometrists, especially in the Continuing Education Program and in Children’s Vision Advocacy. She served for many years on CEO (Canadian Examiners in Optometry) and also worked for the low vision clinic within the Saskatoon City Hospital, in association with the CNIB. She is particularly devoted to children’s eye health, vision and education. She also enjoys the challenges of treating dry eyes and low vision and helping her patients maintain their vision.

She currently sits on the board of Réseau Santé en français de la Saskatchewan, where she enjoys sharing her health care expertise while conversing in her mother tongue.

Dr. Foucault's passion for the arts, athletics and culture has inspired many community partnerships such as with the Saskatoon Soccer Centre, The Enchanted Forest, the community rink at Merlis Belsher Place, Persephone Theatre and READ Saskatoon.  Family Focus Eyecare is a proud recipient of the READ Saskatoon Community Builder Award.

In 2018, Dr. Foucault performed in the Swinging with the Stars gala to raise money for the Breast Health Center at Saskatoon City Hospital. Most recently, she joined the Royal University Hospital’s Women Leading Philanthropy group.

Her dedication through volunteering with such organizations as La Troupe du Jour, READ Saskatoon, Folkfest, Persephone Theatre, Saskatoon Summer Players, and now as an Ambassador for Ferre Play Theatre keeps her actively involved in the community.

Dr. Foucault and her husband Paul Salisbury live in Saskatoon with their three children: Paulina, Antony and Jack. They love to be engaged in the community and enjoy traveling together.
